Tuolumne Meadows

Yosemite's high country — a vast subalpine meadow at 8,600 feet along Tioga Road, ringed by granite domes and the start of the John Muir and Pacific Crest Trails. Olmsted Point looks back at Half Dome from behind; six campgrounds string along the Tioga corridor. It's a different park from the Valley — cooler, emptier, and only open when Tioga Road is clear (roughly late May through October).
