Permits in Canyonlands

The scenic drives need nothing — the White Rim, the Maze, and the rivers need a Recreation.gov permit.

Permits for Canyonlands

Most of a Canyonlands trip needs no permit at all — the scenic drives and the short overlook walks are free to do any time, and there's no entrance reservation. What does require one is the backcountry and the rivers: day-use and overnight permits for the White Rim Road, the Maze, and Needles backpacking, plus day and overnight river permits for the Green and Colorado. Every link below goes to the official Recreation.gov page; confirm the current window and fee there before you plan around it. <!-- VERIFY: Recreation.gov facilities 4251904 / 4675315 / 621747 / 621748 — permit windows, fees -->

Permit listings sourced from the Recreation Information Database (RIDB). Confirm current dates, fees, and how to apply on Recreation.gov or at the park before you go — some permits are first-come or issued in person.
