Permits in Bryce Canyon

No timed-entry system here — just the backcountry permit and the ranger-led hikes and horse rides.

Permits & Reservations

Permits for Bryce Canyon

Bryce has no timed-entry reservation, so most visitors need no permit at all — just drive in. What does take a reservation is the backcountry: an overnight permit for the Under-the-Rim and Riggs Spring trails. Beyond that, the popular ranger-led experiences book through Recreation.gov — the full-moon hikes and the private horse rides into the amphitheater fill fast in season. Everything below runs through Recreation.gov; anyone selling Bryce reservations anywhere else is a scam.

Permit listings sourced from the Recreation Information Database (RIDB). Confirm current dates, fees, and how to apply on Recreation.gov or at the park before you go — some permits are first-come or issued in person.
