Guided trips and tours near Arches

Most guided trips out of Arches run from Moab, five miles south, and they fall into two camps. If you'd rather learn the park than navigate it, a guided sightseeing tour handles the driving, the parking, and the route while you take it in. If you came for the Moab the pavement doesn't reach, the 4x4 and self-drive UTV runs on Hell's Revenge and Fins N Things are the area's signature. There are also self-guided audio drives under $20 for context without a guide. Each option below carries who it suits, the run time, the starting price, and a direct booking link.

    Stargazing in Arches

Park-wide; Garden of Eden, Balanced Rock & Panorama Point pullouts

    Price Free

Arches has been a certified International Dark Sky Park since 2019, and on a clear, moonless night the Milky Way arches right over the fins. The roadside pullouts at Balanced Rock, Garden of Eden, and Panorama Point give you wide-open sky without a hike in the dark. Skies are darkest near a new moon; let your eyes adjust for 20 minutes and skip the headlamp. The park road and pullouts stay open after dark, and there is no fee to stargaze.

    Ranger-Led Programs

Park-wide; Fiery Furnace & visitor center

    Price Free

Arches rangers run guided walks, talks, and the ranger-led Fiery Furnace hike from spring through fall. The Fiery Furnace walk is the safest way into that trail-less maze of fins, and it books out fast on Recreation.gov. Evening and night-sky programs run in the warmer months. Topics, meeting points, and which programs are running change week to week, so check the current schedule before you go.

Arches Entrance Road to Devils Garden

    Price Free

The paved park road runs about 18 miles from the visitor center to Devils Garden, and it links nearly every headline formation — Park Avenue, Balanced Rock, the Windows, and the Delicate Arch viewpoint turnoff. Plan a half-day with stops; the pullouts are short walks, not hikes. Parking lots at the marquee stops fill by mid-morning in spring and fall, so drive it early or late. The road is included with park admission.

    • About 18 miles to Devils Garden
    • Lots fill by mid-morning in peak season
  • Seasonal event

    Timed-Entry Reservation Status

US-191 park entrance, north of Moab

    Price Free

Arches ran a seasonal timed-entry reservation system from 2022 through 2025 during the busy April–October window. For the 2026 season the park is not requiring a timed-entry reservation — you can drive in at any time with regular admission. The program has come and gone year to year, so confirm the current rules on the NPS plan-your-visit page before your trip. Either way, arriving before 8 a.m. or after 3 p.m. beats the worst of the entrance-gate line.

    • No timed-entry reservation required for 2026
    • Re-check entry rules before each trip
